Lotto Max Jackpot Just Hit $90 Million, The Largest Lottery Prize In Canadian History

No one won the Lotto Max jackpot last Friday when it sat at $80 million, and no one won again on Tuesday when it climbed to $85 million, and as a result the jackpot has now rolled over to $90 million for this Friday's draw — the largest lottery prize ever offered in Canadian history, surpassing the previous national record of $80 million set just last year. But the $90 million jackpot is not even the full picture of what is available to win in Friday's draw, because sitting alongside it are 18 Maxmillions prizes worth $1 million each and 90 Maxplus prizes worth $100,000 each, bringing the combined total value of top prizes in a single draw to $117 million. That is an extraordinary amount of money to be sitting unclaimed for a single Friday night drawing.
The Lotto Max is Canada's flagship national lottery, with draws held every Tuesday and Friday and tickets available across the country, with each $5 ticket providing three sets of seven numbers as well as an automatic Maxplus entry. The OLG noted that while the main jackpot went unclaimed in Tuesday's draw, there were still significant winners — two Maxmillions worth $1 million were sold in Whitby and Hamilton, two people from Toronto and Mississauga shared a third Maxmillion to receive $500,000 each, and 12 Maxplus winning tickets were sold across Ontario for $100,000 each. Lottery players who have not yet checked their tickets from Tuesday's draw are reminded to do so at OLG.ca or through the OLG app before Friday, since Tuesday's Maxmillions and Maxplus prizes are still waiting to be claimed. The $90 million jackpot draw takes place this Friday. Someone in Canada is about to have a very good weekend.
