See If Your California City Allow Fireworks This 4th of July.

Nearly 300 cities and communities across California allow legal fireworks this Fourth of July, and if you have been wondering whether your neighborhood is on the list, we have you covered. California only permits fireworks labeled as safe and sane, meaning they must be ground-based, non-explosive, and not designed to launch into the air. That rules out aerial shells, bottle rockets, Roman candles, and firecrackers, which remain illegal statewide. Approved retailers are allowed to sell legal fireworks from June 28 through July 6, and major cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, and all of San Diego County ban consumer fireworks entirely.
