Las Vegas Put 296 Dogs In A Wave Pool And Broke A World Record

The Guinness World Record for the most dogs attending a dog pool party stood at 277 for approximately four months, set by Chewy at Chewy Bark Park on The Underline in Coral Gables, Florida, in May 2026. On September 27, Doodlepalooza 2026 arrived at Cowabunga Canyon water park in Las Vegas with 296 dogs and a Guinness World Records adjudicator on site to count them, and the record changed hands. The event was the inaugural Doodlepalooza, organized during National Dog Week by We Love Doodles, an online community and resource for doodle owners, in partnership with Doodle Rescue USA, a Las Vegas-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming doodles and poodle mixes. The 296 dogs, all doodles and poodle mixes of various sizes and varieties, were joined by their families across Cowabunga Canyon's wave pool, splash pad, and shallow kiddie areas. A Guinness adjudicator counted every animal and confirmed the new record on site. The previous record of 277 was officially certified. The new record of 296 was officially certified. Everyone got wet.
Doodle Rescue USA used the event to raise awareness for the rescue and rehoming work it does every day outside the spotlight of world record attempts, where less photogenic dogs wait in foster care for permanent homes. Sheedvash Michael Zargari, a representative of the organization, said that achieving the record gives them a chance to celebrate something historic while also drawing attention to the rescue work happening every day behind the scenes. Danielle Dunker, also of Doodle Rescue USA, said the record belongs to every dog and person who showed up for a larger purpose. The larger purpose is a real one: doodles, meaning goldendoodles, labradoodles, and their poodle-mix relatives, became enormously popular during the pandemic-era dog adoption surge and have since been surrendered in large numbers by owners who underestimated the grooming costs, energy levels, and space requirements of the breeds. Doodle Rescue USA exists to absorb that wave and find those dogs new homes. The Guinness record is a hook, and it worked. The wave pool is a detail, and it is also a very good one. Two hundred ninety-six dogs in a Las Vegas waterpark during National Dog Week, certified official, and every one of them had somewhere to go home to afterward.
