Most Rubiks Cubed Solved While Skydiving.

His cube broke mid-air on the first attempt. He got back on the plane immediately and tried again. That is the kind of person Ishaan Hadkar is. The 24-year-old from the USA has just set the Guinness World Records title for most rotating puzzle cubes solved in a single skydive, completing two full Rubik's Cube solves during a jump from 13,000 feet over Oceanside, California. It was his first time skydiving. Hadkar had previously solved 10 Rubik's Cubes while scuba diving, so a new extreme environment was a natural next step. The conditions were anything but easy: windy, cloudy, and freefall speeds of around 120 mph that affected his grip and muscle memory in ways ground training cannot prepare you for. He messed up the final step of his first cube during freefall when wind pressure disrupted his technique, ultimately finishing it around five to six seconds after the parachute deployed. The second cube was solved entirely under the parachute. A Guinness World Records title was officially in the bag.
Hadkar first picked up a Rubik's Cube at 10 after watching his cousin solve one, discovered he had real talent, and began competing and winning. Fourteen years later, the record is his. "With records, there's never really an end," he said after landing. "Right after touching down, my first thought was that I could have probably solved five cubes in the air!" He is already planning more extreme cubing challenges and says he wants to keep pushing what is possible. For now, his first-ever skydive will go down as one of the most extraordinary Guinness World Record debuts anyone has ever pulled off.
