Two young donkeys named Peanut and Popcorn are celebrating their very first Christmas in a forever home after being born at World Horse Welfare’s rescue center in Scotland. Their mothers, Mia and Molly, were rescued while heavily pregnant, and the babies arrived ten weeks apart at the Belwade Farm center last year. Because donkeys form incredibly strong bonds with each other, Peanut and Popcorn needed to find a home together once they were old enough to leave the rescue. Finding someone with space for two donkeys at once can be tricky, but luck smiled on the pair when Carol spotted their profiles online and knew her home would be perfect.
Carol already had two older donkeys named Duffy and Henrietta, but she carefully considered whether adding two young donkeys would be right for everyone before applying. After meeting Peanut and Popcorn at the farm, she could tell it would be a wonderful match, and the young pair have completely livened up their older companions. Carol says the foursome now zoom around the field together and the younger donkeys are hilarious characters who have brought so much joy to her farm. She promises all her animals have a home for life, which means this Christmas is just the first of many happy holidays Peanut and Popcorn will celebrate with their new family, and Carol cannot imagine her farm without them anymore.
